It was a daunting task for this supermarket kind of gal....what you wonder is that???? I have never really been a make it from scratch kind of gal....if you can buy it at the grocery store....why make it at home has always been my thinking! Kind of scary!!!! Well I am making an effort to make more from scratch for my family. So for example I made Belgium waffles on Monday morning for them and had enough to freeze for breakfast for the whole week. I will do pancakes next Monday. Not only is it fun, healthier but CHEAPER!!!! So the girls and I went for it and made applesauce. It is very good for you and cheap to make as well. Here are some pics of our fun. It was so yummy. I have never had hot fresh applesauce....so yummy. And the super cool thing was all I had to buy was the apples....and then you add your seasonings to taste as you like it.....AMAZING!

That truly is a family favorite here. I make it regularly. Once you get the flavor you really like, try changing is up by adding pears or berries. Our favorite is gala with Bartlett a little vanilla and little brown sugar and let it sit in the crock pot for the day to smell up the house and then mash it at night and serve over vanilla ice cream.... Oh man it is yummy!
